Speaking to an ancient culture that did not know the wonder of electric lighting, Jesus reminded His followers that they must be engaged in their work while the sun was still shining (John 9:4). He warned His disciples that the night was coming–when no one will be able to work. Jesus’ words are just as relevant for us today. We must work while it is still day, because the night is coming when we will no longer be able to accomplish the tasks assigned to us. The opportunity will have been missed. The window will have closed.
The vision of New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation is a state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished. You are among those who recognize the need to work while it is still day, and you are taking every opportunity to help advance this vision. Thank you!
We’ve been traveling the state sharing the good things that God is doing in our legislative Bible studies in Albany. Legislators are committing their lives to Jesus Christ. Elected officials are being discipled. People who know the Lord are moving into positions of power and influence in the State Capitol. Though you won’t read about it in the morning papers, God is doing something in your government–and our spiritual adversary hates it.
- Assisted suicide legislation is passing in some states, but not here.
- Abortion expansion took root in other places, but not here.
- Legislation that would penalize Christian counselors helping those struggling with pornography and unwanted same-sex attraction has become law in multiple places, but not at the state level here.
Why? In New York, God’s people have entered the arena of public policy and they are holding back the flood. They are standing in the gap.
From our vantage point watching over New York State and the nation, we can tell you that we sense it is still day. There is a work to be accomplished. Now is not the time to recoil from political involvement, government affairs or public life–no matter how nasty it may seem at times. Now is the time to advance, because it will not always be day.
Some are relaxing after a few pro-life advances in Washington, DC, or resting in the thought of a new Supreme Court Justice soon being seated, and they are easing up on the work of education and advocacy for biblical values. We must not fall to this temptation. It is still day–and we must take advantage of this amazing moment in history to accomplish as much as possible! We cannot let up.
Your most generous donation of $50, $75, $250, $500 or even $1000, will help advance a vision for this state where God is honored, religious freedom flourishes, families thrive, and life is cherished. Can we count on your immediate support today?
Not everyone can be in Albany or Washington, D.C. each time a spiritual battle is waged or a legislative skirmish ensues, but you can lock arms with us right from wherever you read these words. We are far from the fulfillment of our vision today. Yet, you know that to achieve a win in the arena, people have to engage in the process.
Thank you for working while it is still day.
