New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation (NYFRF) purchased our ministry headquarters in Greece, New York back in 2017. Since making that purchase, we—together with our volunteers, donors, and friends—have been in the process of updating and renovating the building. In addition to being used as office space for our staff, the ministry headquarters is envisioned as a training center for Christians who desire to make a difference in the halls of government.
Accordingly, we are pleased to announce the very first training class we intend to offer at our revamped ministry headquarters. That class has been scheduled for Saturday, January 11 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. At New Yorker’s Family Research Foundation, we have a strong desire to see an increase in the Christian community of those willing to serve on their local school boards. In partnership with the Teaching and Learning Institute, we’ll be offering an introductory class pertaining to running for and serving on a school board. Topics will include:
- What is a school board?
- What does a school board do?
- What are the qualifications for board membership?
- What qualities does a good school board member possess?
- How much time is required to serve?
- How does one become a candidate?
- Why should I consider running for school board?
- What does a campaign timeline look like?
The class instructor will be Dr. Ralph Kerr, Founder and President of the Teaching and Learning Institute. There is no charge for this class, but pre-registration is required. A continental breakfast will be provided.
UPDATE: Due to a tremendous response, this class is at capacity. No further registrations can be accepted at this time.
